June 30 deadline set for road construction and rehabilitation in Lahore

(Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set a deadline of June 30 for the completion of road construction and rehabilitation projects in Lahore.

She chaired an important meeting on the Lahore Development Plan, during which a detailed review of the project’s progress was conducted. The Chief Minister assigned the task of ensuring timely completion of Lahore’s development schemes to the Senior Minister and Chief Secretary.

It was decided that the first phase of street construction and rehabilitation in Lahore would be completed by June 30. This phase includes 3,705 streets under the Municipal Corporation Lahore and 230 under WASA. Additionally, the final deadline for the repair of 1,573 streets related to WASA works has been set for July 31.

The meeting also resolved that monthly timelines will be set under the Lahore Development Plan to continuously monitor the pace and quality of work. In the second phase, development work including the construction and repair of streets will be carried out in Allama Iqbal Town, Aziz Bhatti Town, and Wagha Town.

Speaking at the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said timely completion of development schemes is essential for public relief, as delays severely disrupt citizens’ daily lives. She added that she considers herself accountable to the people and cannot bear to see them in distress.
