(Web Desk) – Pakistan has proposed the formation of a United Nations commission to investigate the Pahalgam incident.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had already extended an offer to India for an investigation. He suggested that either two or three countries should jointly carry out the investigation, or a UN commission could be established.

He further remarked that those with clean hands in a crisis are the ones who offer to conduct an investigation, adding that India is not accepting the offer because it fears that something else may emerge from the inquiry.

Khawaja Asif also emphasized that the possibility of dialogue cannot be ruled out under any circumstances. Despite the tensions, the path of negotiations is always pursued.

The Defense Minister mentioned that while the possibility of a Pakistan-India confrontation has decreased, India is currently in a state of confusion. The international community, including the United States, Russia, China, Turkey, and Iran, is calling for the issue to be resolved through dialogue, and any of these countries could initiate the investigation.

He raised the question that while the incident occurred in Pahalgam, an FIR was filed within 10 minutes, casting doubts on the credibility of the event. He pointed out that cracks in the narrative surrounding the Pahalgam incident have emerged even within India itself.

Khawaja Asif also clarified that the appointment of Pakistan’s National Security Advisor is unrelated to the negotiations issue.
