(Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has declared that Pakistan will respond with full force if attacked. He emphasized that India cannot shift the burden of its oppressive policies, electoral compulsions, or administrative failures onto Pakistan.
Addressing the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India following the Pahalgam incident, the ambassador clearly outlined Pakistan’s firm stance.
In an interview with an American TV channel, Ambassador Sheikh stated that Pakistan has always acted with responsibility and restraint. “We desire peace, but it should not be mistaken for weakness. Any misadventure against Pakistan will be met with a strong and decisive response,” he warned.
He further said that Pakistan does not want regional tensions, but if two nuclear powers come face to face, the consequences could be unpredictable. “Our economic progress demands peace, but we believe in peace with dignity,” he added.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, Sheikh pointed out that India has yet to present any evidence linking Pakistan to the event, either to Pakistan or the international community.
He criticized India’s attempts to deflect blame, stating, “India cannot burden Pakistan with the consequences of its repressive policies, electoral needs, or governance failures. If even 700,000 troops cannot establish peace in occupied Kashmir, that should be a serious concern for India.”
The ambassador also highlighted that Pakistan is one of the countries most affected by terrorism. “Nearly a thousand terrorist incidents occurred in Pakistan last year. We have played a frontline role in the global war against terrorism, suffering thousands of casualties and economic losses worth billions of dollars,” he concluded.
