(Web Desk) – Smart libraries have been set up in all jails across Punjab.
According to the spokesperson for the Prisons Department, Secretary of the Home Department Noorul Amin Mengal, along with IG Mehmood Farooq Nazir, inaugurated the smart library at the District Jail Lahore.
The spokesperson further mentioned that prisoners have been provided with books and shelves in their barracks, and each jail will receive 500 new books monthly.
He added that the libraries contain books on ethics, history, literature, character-building, and Islam.
The spokesperson also shared that educated prisoners will summarize books for the remaining 10 prisoners, and the most avid readers each month will be rewarded.
